About The Stirring

What is the Stirring?

The Stirring was founded in January 2016.

It is the Christian ministry organisation of Alun & Donna Leppitt and a registered charity in the UK.

What does the Stirring do?

We host regular relational groups and monthly worship nights in our home.

We run training courses in Worship, Healing and the Prophetic and host annual conferences and events in our hometown of Southampton.

We support ministries in other nations and travel internationally to minister the authentic Gospel of Jesus.

Foundations of the Stirring Ministry

The following are core values or key emphases Donna and I carry in our lives and ministry:
The Presence of God, Kingdom Family, Equipping and Training, Activation and Impartation.

A resting Place for His Presence -  a foundation of the Stirring

For many years something was stirred in my heart regarding releasing a prophetic sound in my City of Southampton… in 2015 a small group of friends gathered regularly in a front room to worship together, to flow prophetically and to grow in expressing the “Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs” that the Apostle Paul exhorts us to do in our gatherings. (Colossians 3:16)
Regular worship nights followed with a focus on family, connection and encounter became one of our foundations. Right at the heart of our vision is to be a “resting place“ for the Presence of God. … in our home, our street and our City.

Towards the end of that year Donna and I felt a strong pull to begin something new in Southampton and following a confirming prophetic word from a trusted apostolic leader, we laid down our local pastoral leadership, to pursue the obvious call of God on our lives. And so at the beginning of 2016 we established The STIRRING, a ministry that was a vehicle to send us to the nations as well as having a voice in our City and region.

Kingdom Family

We desire to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33) We place high value on relationship and family, rather than focussing on structure and organisation.

We love to do life together with people and our heart is to intentionally build lasting relationships, in doing so we are actively supporting leaders of ministries and churches as well as families and close friends.

Training and Equipping

We are also a training and equipping ministry.
At conferences and churches; training events and special schools; one off meetings and small groups, we love to pour out our hearts in ‘equipping the saints for the work of ministry’ (Ephesians 4:12).

We run our own School of Prophecy, and equip in a number of key areas including : Worship, The Prophetic, Kingdom Identity, Healing, Prayer and Ministry Team Training.

We regularly speak by invitation at other events and conferences internationally. Please feel free to contact us if you would like us to come to an event you are planning.

Activation & Impartation

One of the thrills of traveling to the nations is witnessing the body of Christ re-awakening or coming alive to aspects of supernatural christianity previously unexplored or laying dormant.

Scripture instructs us to pursue a life of love like our lives depend on it  and to eagerly desire the gifts of the Spirit especially prophecy. (Paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 14)

Hearing the voice of Father God and releasing his life giving words of encouragement are a vital part of kingdom family. As we teach and equip we also do creative exercises and prophetic activation to release people into a fuller understanding of who they are, whose they are and what they are here on this planet for. We believe in

Impartation – the activation of the gifts of the Spirit that can come through the laying on of hands. (2 Timothy 1:6-7, Romans 1:11, Numbers 11:16-17)

Activation and impartation are integral parts of our ministry to the body of Christ, encouraging each of us into a naturally supernatural lifestyle.

Our Vision

To gather God’s family in pursuit of His presence, to activate and release spiritual gifts and to grow people in their identity as sons and daughters of a loving heavenly Dad.

To follow Jesus, become like Jesus and do the things Jesus did and even greater!

To train and equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12)

To stir up one another for love and good works (Hebrews 10:25)

Our Values

We value and honour the Presence of God, the gifts of the Spirit and intimacy with God.

We also place high value on relationship, encouraging connection and community.

We are kingdom focused with a huge emphasis on family rather than organisation and structure. We like to “do life” with people.
